What animal is good to start breeding with?
If someone wanted to get into animal breeding (excluding cats/dogs), what's a good animal to start with? I mean with reasonable profit and relatively low maintenance. Of course breeding is always a lot of work and resbonsibility...

- tropical fish
- I started with fish. You could start with rodents, as they breed constantly and there are always people looking for snake food around here. They are somewhat low maitnance, gain about 7$ per rodent(like hamsters and things) and are kind of cute once you get over how awful they smell. Fish are hard to breed as fry take months to grow. I've been doing it for 4 years now and its fun to see what colors you'll get(betta and livebearers) its a pain. Birds are best left to the professional as they are fragile and not hardy at all(as babies). Reptiles are somewhat easy, but you need a lot of things to get you started. I would say if you want, get a cornsnake pair and breed them, as they are easiest. You will need two tanks and an incubator, and it would cost a lot, but man are they low maitenance. Point being, if you want to breed something you'll need to give it extra care so there are no complications. Good luck, hope this helps. If you choose rodents, birds, fish, or reptiles, I can help, as I've done them all. >.< I live in a zoo
- Budgies. They breed quickly and before you know it they will be everywhere.
